Why do Ukrainians fight?

The russian full scale invasion in Ukraine triggered a wave of shock and anger in the world facing application of russian brutal military force as a tool of oppression freedom and democracy in the world.

At 4:30 in the morning on the 24th of February 2022 Ukrainian cities and villages were bombed and Russian Federation without declaration of the war flooded Ukraine with tanks and troops. Aviation and missile strikes started to kill civilians and destroy Ukrainian infrastructure. Russian troops were killing peaceful people, raping Ukrainian women and children, killing Ukrainian soldiers, making videos of tortures and insisting on capitulation of Ukraine.

Whatever other accusations can be made against russians, no one can accuse them of not expressing in their speeches and writing exactly the kind of Russia they intended to make and the kind of world they meant to create by armed russian conquest.

After the russian tricky deal with USA and UK Ukraine gave up nuclear weapons to russians together with long range missiles. Exactly those missiles Russian Federation is firing to Ukraine without any possibility for Ukrainians to properly defend themselves. Russia once again lied demonstrating its imperialist grim face again, USA and England who supposed to guarantee Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity failed to do so.

The situation today with Putin military advances in Chchnya, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine is no different from the pre Second World War years when Hitler was able to annex Austria, then take over Czechoslovakia and occupy Poland together with his russian allies without any meaningful resistance from European and American democracies. At that time European countries decided to pacify Hitler, and Czechoslovakia’s government simply allowed to occupy their country without resistance and choose flight.

And Ukraine choose to fight.

Why?

Because Ukrainians believe in Freedom. The old Ukrainian motto is

Freedom or Death

meaning that there is no life without Freedom. It also means that those who want to take Freedom from Ukrainians with military force will be destroyed by the same type of force they are trying to exert on free people.

Ukrainians as other free people believe that all men are created equal, that they are endowed with unalienable Rights of Life, Freedom and the pursuit of Happiness.

Those who intended to take those right from free people with terror and fear will be prosecuted with the arms.

But what is Freedom?

Freedom is NO fear. As simple as that.

Do not have fear of russians.

Fight for Freedom as Ukrainians.

Stand with Ukraine.
